Chanuka and Olive Oil Delights

Chanuka is almost here. That is when olive oil will take center stage.

Olive oil was used for anointing the high priest in the first Holy Temple and for anointing the king. It was used for the menorah in the Holy Temple. When the Syrian-Greeks tried to destroy every bit of olive oil, every vestige of purity and holiness in our lives, they missed one jug of oil. And from that sealed jug the miracle grew and grew. The oil was poured into the Menorah and lasted beyond anyone’s expectations, 8 nights, enough time to acquire new olive oil for the daily lighting. To commemorate the miracle and to emulate the lesson of the light we ignite the flames of our menoras each year on Chanukah.

Yay for Olive Oil!

Peaches ‘n Cream Herbals is the best place to get Chanuka gifts for family and friends. So many of our products feature extra virgin olive oil for its healing qualities, its preserving specialty, its non-rancidity, and how efficiently it extracts benefits from dried herbs. It's good for skin, penetrates even deeper into the body’s tissues, and is a wonderful conduit of healing when infusing herbs with it. We use it in our relaxing massage and baby oils, in our lip balms, rose face cream, 5 healing salves (lavender hand cream, soothing skin salve, antiseptic healing salve, scar healing salve, arnica salve), mullein flower ear oil, and fly away bug repellent. Olive oil shines in Peaches 'n Cream Herbals! Order something delightful for your loved ones in time for Chanuka!

It is in the darkest month of the year that we shine the light of Chanuka. After all, darkness is not an existence all of its own, it’s only the absence of light.

May we keep adding positivity, light and holiness in our world and thus dispel all evil and negativity.

Happy Chanuka!

Lots of love and light,

Nechama Dina Smith
